“About 60 per cent of our population growth, roughly, is now coming from overseas, where as about 40 per cent is from the birth of young Australians,” says Assistant director of demography at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Neil Scott in a recent interview with SBS.

The complexion of the Australian population is starting to change with diminishing birth-rates as well as diminishing rates of migration from Australia’s traditional European sources.

The ABS statistics indicate that the rate of increase in migrants from New Zealand, China, India and South Africa are increasing rapidly.

“People born in the United Kingdom remained the largest group of migrants with over 1.2 million calling Australia home, followed by those from New Zealand (608,800), China (427,600) and India (369,700),” said a statement from the ABS

I am wondering if anyone or any registered migration agent has an opinion on the value of "overseas referrals".

Any cases referred to New Delhi mission returned with "adverse information"?

Are clients really providing so many false documents? Or is the relaibilty of the "referral " system low?

Just  received decision in the case of  person who was acused of providing a false bachelor degree from a University in India on the grounds of "overseas referral ". 

We provided further letters from the University supporting my client's claim but the officer refused the application due to a lack of skills  that had been evidenced and compared to AQF standard with AEI database.

Has anyone experienced getting decision without merit?  If so - is the decision valid or invalid ?

Experience shows that DIBP Managers always support their Case Officers - even though they make mistakes, are negligent or just incompetent.

I experienced 457 visa refusals on the grounds of "not satysfying schedule 3".  The officer has not adressed her concerns, reasons behind the decision, and not reffered to any particular part of schedule 3 that has not been satysfied.
