Victoria’s Skilled and Business Migration Program is responsible for providing visa nomination to high-calibre skilled migrants to live and work in Victoria though the subclass 190 Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa or in regional Victoria through the subclass 489 Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa. 

The Visa Nomination Occupation List specifies which occupations are eligible for Victorian nomination for the above-mentioned visa types. The content of the list is underpinned by stakeholder consultation and analysis of labour market data.

For Allianz Global Assistance OSHC students who need to access their e-membership card, find a doctor, contact a dedicated Member Services team, or make a claim, they can do so through the My OSHC Assistant app—at any time of the day, no matter where they are.

On the app, your student clients can:

  • Find a Doctor nearby, searching by gender and languages spoken – AGA has a network of over 900 Direct Billing Medical Providers!
  • Immediately access their e-membership card
  • Update their OSHC account details
  • Make a claim

Encourage your students to download the My OSHC Assistant app with every AGA OSHC purchase.

The legal requirements for RMA annual re-registration

To renew your registration as a migration agent under the Migration Act, you must complete CPD activities worth a combined total of at least 10 points in the 12 months before you apply to re-register, unless you are the holder of an Australian legal practising certificate. Effective 1 January 2018, migration CPD points breakdown is as follows:

China overtook New Zealand as the leading source of visitors to Australia in 2018, according to new data released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

In 2018, people from China made 1.43 million short-term visits to Australia, up 6 per cent on 2017. ABS Director of Migration Statistics, Myles Burleigh, said Australia was an increasingly popular destination for Chinese residents.

“We have seen extremely strong growth in visits from China in recent times. In 2008, there were 353,000 visitors from China, so the number has more than tripled in the last 10 years", Mr Burleigh said.
