SA Migration program 2019-20

Changes for the new migration program 2019-20 are now available on the South Australian government website. Below is a summary of the changes and links to the sources:

Changes to the criteria for Skilled Migration visas and the International Graduate pathway are available here:

  • The DAMA occupation list is available here.
  • The criteria for eligibility of employers in the DAMA scheme is available here
  • South Australian employers wanting to apply for a DAMA endorsement can submit their applications through the Immigration SA Apply website towards the end of this week.
  • New occupation lists for the Subclass 190 and 489 visa are available here
  • Applications for state nominations will be open on the Immigration SA Apply website from mid-afternoon, Wednesday 3 July 2019.

New occupations are now added for the Orana regional area

Regional Development Australia – Orana is a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the Orana region in New South Wales. We provide skilled migration services as part of an overarching regional workforce planning and development strategy.

As an RCB Orana assess the suitability of applicants to fill gaps in their existing labour market and recommend these applicants to the Department of Home Affairs or NSW Department of Industry.

This means they play a role in assessing eligibility for the following two visas:

Summary of changes to Working Holiday Maker visas:

 Working Holiday Makers who have completed at least six months specified regional employment in their second year may be eligible for a third year visa. The 6 months of work must all be carried out on or after 1 July 2019, with applications able to be lodged from January 2020.

 Extension of the period a WHM (subclass 417 and 462) may work with the same agricultural employer, from six to 12 months.
