A toolkit to advance reporting on modern slavery has been published by GRI and the Responsible Labor Initiative, an Initiative of the Responsible Business Alliance.

The resource provides guidance on increasing the effectiveness of corporate reporting, underpinning the transparency and accountability needed to support global efforts towards eradicating modern slavery.

The exploitation of workers in global value chains remains a pressing human rights issue.

Do you work on Temporary Skills Shortage visas?

If so, are you being driven over the brink by the Department's, or the Tribunal's, interpretations of the so-called "genuineness test" under regulation 2.72(10)?

If that is the case, you should be aware of an important decision that came out of the Federal Circuit Court less than a month ago: it is called Michellechen Pty Ltd v Minister for Immigration & Anor (2019) FCCA 3355 (22 November 2019).

Registered Migration Agents are advised to be very careful about using a new "e-Signature" concept offered by KONDESK, promoted by SearchMyANZSCO.com.au.  SearchMyANZSCO is owned by Konze Enteprises and as far as we can determine, they are not owned or operated by RMAs.  Therefore they do not need to comply with the industry's Code of Conduct.

The poorly worded English on an email received today, promoting the e-signature service states as follows:

"E-SIGNATURE On Compliance Related Document", and
